So confused.
The vet today was very condescending to me and basically did all but tell me directly that I wasn't taking care of my dog when I was just following his prescription orders. I am so confused because the last time we went, he said that Chester's condition was inoperable, that it would only worsen with time and couldn't get better. All I could do would be to alleviate the pain. Today, a 180. Now Chester needs a scan and a possible operation. I'm all for a scan if it will help determine what is happening to him, and I am all for an operation if it will help him to walk normally again. But this guy was comparing fixing a broken foot to a spinal operation to heal what he previously diagnosed as a degenerative and inoperable neurological disorder.
Ummm...I'm no scientist, but that dog don't hunt. I am not sure I want this man operating on my beloved Chester the Wonder Corgi should an operation be in order. Setting broken foot ≠ spinal surgery.
So it's time for second opinions. Have called a few friends here with dogs in the hopes of getting recommendations. All I want is for my little Corgi to have a wonderful life. He has so many years to go. According to breed standards he could live another four years, possibly more according to some of the Corgi people I know. He is happy. If a surgery will help, I'll do all it takes. If this guy is just looking to make a buck, then I'll drag his name through the mud all over town.
